GATE Exam is highly competitive exam where, around 9 lakhs engineer aspirants appear each year to get an admission in top universities like IITs/IISc and to get job in PSU (Public Sector Undertakings).
GATE 2022 Examination will be organised by IIT, Bombay and all official notification will be released by it along with detailed brochures with Gate Syllabus, Gate Exam Pattern etc.
The GATE Exam will be conducted on February 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th and 14th February, 2022 & there will be two sessions (forenoon and afternoon) each day.
As an Engineering Stream involves 10-14 subjects in it, it will be necessary to understand GATE syllabus thoroughly. Proper understanding of this, will help in preparation for gate exam. Hence, it is advisable to have a deep understanding of Gate Syllabus and Exam pattern before appearing for GATE Exam 2022.
There are few changes have been made in term of Eligibility Criteria, Question Types, Subjects and Marks Distribution by IIT Bombay for GATE Exam 2022. These changes are as follow:
- Eligibility criteria to appear for GATE-2022 is relaxed from the minimum 10+2+4 (ongoing) to minimum 10+2+3 (ongoing), enabling the third year students of their undergraduate studies to appear for gate 2022 examination.
- All Test Papers of GATE 2022 will be entirely objective type. Pattern of questions may include:
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
- Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and/or
- Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
- Two new subjects – Environmental Science and Engineering (ES) and Humanities and Social Science (XH) are added. The total number of subjects in GATE 2022 has increased to 27.
- Marks Distribution:
- General Aptitude: 15 Marks
- Engineering Mathematics: 13 Marks
- Subject Questions: 72 Marks
