The use of semiconductor devices has pervaded the industrial application relating tp fields of Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The subject mainly deals with the application of solid-state power semiconductor devices(High frequency controlled switches) for control & conversion of electrical power ranging from few Milli watts to hundreds of Mega Watts. From GATE point of view, the converters like AC to DC, DC to DC and DC to AC have been given more stress in this series of video lectures. It is a highly scoring, “less syllabus more weightage” subject and carries 9 to 10 percentage in GATE.
